Some say zero, some say 9 months.I just want an accurate reading of the chronological age of a human being when he/she is born.

Common sense says that age can't be negative.

A second or minute after birth a human is one second or minute old yes,but I refer to the moment or instant one is born.

Life begins as soon as you are conceived. I mean you don't lay in your momma's tummy dead until she has you and you suddenly are given life! So I say I was 9 months old when I was born.

Standard convention is age starts at time of birth. There is no reason other than being cute or confusing to stray from convention.

So long as we know that someone is following the convention, then we can safely assume, with little chance of error, that conception preceded birth by approximately 9 months.

Shanil dear.. see most of us say zero.. and chronologically it is most correct answer anyone can give you. Let's stick to the common practise that the whole world has been following since the conception of the homo sapiens. Today we indulge in fighting on any matter at all. At least this is one point that we all agree to without any discrimination of race or religion.. let's keep it that way.

Cheers :-))

Depends on what country is keeping the records, but I think nowadays they count the date of birth as Day One. That would make sense, because otherwise you are attempting to pinpoint the day of conception, and that is too often a futile exercise. Seems like DNA can tell what old-fashioned calendar-watching used to be used for. How do you decide, really, when a child is "premature?"

Age is usually calculated on the time that you were physically on the earth and had your first breath of life. So the minute you came into this world you were actually 1 second old. Why? Second is a measurement of time.

Zero, is it. We start the clock at birth. You dont need a vote here, at birth you are 0 years old, 0 days old. No one counts time before birth.

in the womb i supppose your brain and body growth is totally different from after you are born.after you're born, that's when your brain has 'woken up to the world' so to speak and it grows at a much faster rate than before birth as it tries to adapt to the new surroundings etc.this in turn triggers the brain to tell the other parts of the body as well.so i would say while you're in the womb you're a foetus and when you're out you become the individual you are.so i'd start counting from after birth!of course you don't have to believe me.lol!:-)

Birth is always zero. Even if it is premature or late.

You are 1 year old on the anniversary of your birth. On 1St anniversary your age is 1year and on 2Nd anniversary your age is 2years........

How can some one exactly calculate the time of conceiving or even the day.

Hi, I think it must be 0, because when normally calulating the age of someone, you dont add the extra 9 months on... :-) Otherwise I'd already be 25. Eeek
