I extremely love my son but extremely hate what he was doing.
In other words I love my son more than anything and will never turn my back on him or look down on him or think less of him but i also hate the hell out of him for some of the things he stole from me before I stuck him in rehab. and for him ignoring his son this past year. I love my son but when I would look at him and see he was high I wanted to knock the hell out of him and he would actually turn my stomach. So yes you can love someone as a person but hate what they do. or hate someone and love what they do . I extremely love lobster and crab legs but at the same time extremely hate how much it costs.

The same person? Love is not the opposite of hate. Indifference is the opposite of love or hate. Love and hate are on the same coin. You can definitely love and hate the same person at the same time with a 50/50 if that's what you were asking.
But love one person and hate another person equally? Sure. It's hard on your internal system to hate anyone, but it happens.
(Behave yourself even when nobody's looking!!) @8=)

Yes you can. You can hate someone extremely and end up having a lifetime relationship full of love, happiness and laughter. Someone can abuse you now and when you look the other way you see someone you love.

I believe that there has to be some kind of love for someone to feel the hate for that person.

yes, it's usually your ex. It will pass into pure hatred and
indifference afterwards.

Yes, I've felt both at the same time, same intensity toward my ex-wife (I'm better now though, thanks for asking).
