he himself has said many times that he will take full responsability for his actions and he has stated that 911 had nothing to do with the war on irac notice i said on not with we are the invading force and without provocation and hence illegal by or own standards its clear to any true american that bush has gone against the very core of what this country was founded on and i as an american am ashamed of our current president and would like to see how george bush and his supporters would answer to charges of illegaly leading this country into a state of war

The war is not illegal. I don't care how many times this contention is repeated it will never be true. If you want to argue certain justifications presented were in error this is a debatable position, but still do not make the war illegal. The Iraqi regime violated the ceasefire agreement and also numerous UN resolutions this alone is justification and sinks any arguments about an illegal war. However, I accept the fact that people like yourself appear incapable of properly examining these facts and will deny or attempt to lessen them at every turn. If you are holding your breath waiting for charges to be levied, let it out, because it is never going to happen. No crime was committed, get over it and move on.

Danielle: Clinton was not impeached for cheating on his wife. Clinton was impeached for lying about his actions under oath. It's called perjury. It is a crime and a serious matter. The fact that the circumstances which lead to it may seem trivial it does not change the gravity of the situation. The never ending support of Clinton by Democrats only serves to show the depth of their hypocrisy. If Democrats want to investigate Bush, bring it on. If they can actually present evidence that laws have been broken by the man I will be happy to join them in calling for his removal from office. Unfortunately, open ended speculation presented as fact without benefit of evidence is just not to be trusted. See what Democrats cannot seem to grasp is that by supporting Clinton's law breaking while demanding accountability from Bush is just hollow rhetoric because it shows you don't believe in equal justice for all, but rather only those you deem as unworthy.

Dolen Drambor: You really need to reread and better interpret the data before presenting it because you are incorrect on both counts. Article 6 of the Constitution relates to individual states not making laws which stand in defiance of the Constitution or accepted treaties engaged in by the United States. It does not state that the United States is bound by any treaty and definitely does not abdicate ability to act unilaterally in our own behalf relating to foreign affairs. If it did then the UN Charter would in effect subjugate the Constitution and render it irrelevant. Further reread Article 1 Section 8 which establishes Congressional Power in matters relating to war. Congress is the only body which can declare war, but there is no prohibition against allowing the Executive Branch to act with authority in military matters in absence of a formal Declaration of war. There is a prohibition which prevents the Executive from acting without Declaration of War for more than 2 years without review and oversight from Congress. This review occurs every year and is related to a vote on continued funding, which has been occuring.

You know, I saw a really interesting interview on (I think) the Colbert Report a couple of days ago with a woman who had written a book about this very topic. She was a prosecutor and she had laid out a full case for why Bush should not only be impeached but tried in criminal court for the abuses he's made while in office, especially in regards to the Iraq war. She made a lot of sense, but I'm not too hopeful that this will actually happen.

It should, though. I mean, we impeached Clinton for cheating on his wife, but this jackass runs our entire country into the ground in every way imaginable and... nothing? Makes you wonder what's wrong with people.

While it is obvious that the enormity of the ill conceived and poorly planned invasion of Iraq has turned in to a far greater disaster for America than Clinton's fabrication about his relationship with Monica, there is currently insufficient support for any impeachment of Bush, and they have already passed laws exempting Americans from war crimes trials by other countries. This was one of the reasons we withdrew from the World Court.

Seeing that congress has authorized every move and expenditure in the current conflict I would say that Pres Bush can't be charged with anything. Don't believe what you hear on CNN or any network in a 20 second clip. Do a little research.

Congress also voted to support the war in Iraq when it was started, including Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, so I do not understand how it could be illegal.

Yes, but it won't go anywhere. bush should be convicted, but God told him to do it. After all, he only started this frivilous "war" to get back at Saddam for threatening to do away with bush sr. If you remember not so long ago, bush declared himself the "decider." Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9-1-1, that hand was played out in the whitehouse. Gee, it seems as though alot of bush supporters are stepping up to the plate to spew their two cents. They will never believe the truth. .Brainwashed, "bushwashed." Forgive them, they know not what they say.

You need to define "illegal war". Cite the law that was broken so people can consider your evidence.
