The giraffe can grow to a height of 6m. A full-grown giraffe can easily peer into a room on the second floor of a building. At this height, the giraffe requires a heart that is as big as a football to pump blood to its brain.Surprisingly, its long neck has only seven neck bones, just like a mouse. Being the tallest means that the giraffe can feed on leaves that are inaccesssible to other animals. It uses its mobile, long tongue (maximum length of 53cm) to grasp leaves. The giraffe has a small head compared to its body. It has good vision and hearing. Together with its long neck, its head functions like a periscope above trees. Even though people think that this is the tallest animal in the animal kingdom, it is easily downheighted by many whales.

To add to the answer from FranzeL... Because the Giraffe has such a long neck, they do not have vocal cords. They also have a muscle in their necks that holds blood close to the brain so they don't pass out when they lift their heads after drinking! Ever stood up too quickly and become dizzy? Just imagine what a Giraffe would feel if they didn't have this muscle!!
