Does anyone find the state of British TV rather depressing ?

All this reality TV and celebrities is really unsatisfying, it just seems to be a case of "dumbing down" TV to it's lowest form.

Oh yes particulary the shite which is on at the moment!! ie reality shows for fat people, people who can't dress properly-who gives a toss??

Some of the programs recently on the terrestial channels have been dyer especially over Christmas but they seem to be coming into their own with some great dramas on now. And the Beeb excelled themselves with Planet Earth and Expedition Borneo. I've started to tape some programs and to go out more. I then watch programs back when I've a free night and the telly's rubbish!

I find our government depressing. Our TV, I can just get over. Us Brits are going to have to go digital soon, cos our government has decided. Never mind those who can't afford it. Still. at least we won't have to watch the reality programmes.

i think it all depends on what kind of TV you like. i think the standard channels can be OK at peek times but any other time its very rare also not all reality shows are bad most of them are just them same but occasionally one good one pops through.
