Jesus and Buddha would have had a tough time getting together since there was a few hundred years difference between them. There are interesting Buddhist legends that speak of a strange man from the west coming to the Himalayas to study under the Buddhist monks for a few years. This happened about the same time as the "lost years" of Jesus' life.
Some speculate that Jesus traveled there and soaked up some of the Buddhist philosophy before returning to Palestine to teach. Remember the 3 wise men from the nativity story? Most illustrations you see have them dressed as Persians, but maybe they came from a little further east!? Maybe they left him a map and said "Come up and see us sometime".

Friends? No. However some believe that Jesus traveled like the buddha and incorporated some buddhist teachings into his teachings. I believe there is mention of a man called Issa in indian texts that resembled Jesus' appearance and some believe that as evidence that Jesus may have traveled to india and was taught there during his lost years. You can read Thich Naht Hahn's Living Buddha, Living Christ in whic he discusses this and also the similar teachings between the two.

They both lived in different eras, so no they were never friends. I don't believe they would get along famously. Reading about the life of Buddha, and Jesus, they seem like very different people with different approaches. One looked for inner peace while the other was more about converting and teaching others in a more out right manner. For some reason, i don;t believe they would get along, but i don't think they would be enemies either.

Well, Buddha was around about 500 years before Jesus. But he did prophesy a great teacher and leader showing up about 500 years after him, who many believe to be Jesus...and no matter what, I think they would have gotten on fantastically.
