It is completely normal to crave strange stuff when you're pregnant. When I was first pregnant with my 2nd baby I actually craved pickles then right after, I would eat chocolate peanut butter ice cream! I ate it like that every time. And in both pregnancies I craved fruit like crazy. WIth my 2nd I actually wanted the sour stuff so much that I would cut up 3 or 4 lemons at a time and put them in a container to take them with me when I went out. I ate all the time, and with my 1st I craved raw potatoes and salad a lot too. I was nauseous a lot with my 1st but with my 2nd I was nauseous and throwing up ALL THE TIME. And with my 2nd cigarettes made me sick too. I threw up each time my husband smoked and I smelled it. I don't know why each time is different, but I do know that he hormone that causes you to feel/be sick is the one that is actually helping to keep you pregnant, so it's a good thing believe it or not.

Because every pregnancy is different. With my first I had morning sickness, afternoon sickness, evening sickness, and nighttime sickness. I even had wake up in the middle of the night sickness. With the last three, nothing at all.
OTOH, at least you are craving fruit and that's a good thing. I would watch the salt intake to make you you aren't getting too much and the sweet-tart, well every now and then won't hurt.
I wouldn't make a special trip to the doctor for this unless you start craving really weird things like plastic or clay. Just mention it at your next appointment if it's still bothering you.
Good luck and best wishes!

Sometimes cravings are a result of a nutritional deficiency in your diet. For example, if you have a craving for ice to chew on, it's a sign that you could be anemic. It's possible that the fruit craving is your body wanting more vitamins, or wanting more fiber to compensate for the often sluggish digestion in early pregnancy.
Sometimes you'll get cravings when you're getting proper nutrition too. During my second pregnancy, I craved sharp cheddar cheese cubes (and they had to be Kraft), real cheerios (because the store brand had edges and the real ones didn't), pot roast, sour gummi worms and basically anything and everything sour.
I never even thought of mentioning any of it to the doctor, except for the craving for roast (thought it might indicate an iron deficiency). I don't think your cravings are anything to worry about.
It could be that your body is really craving cigarettes but knows it can't have any, so it's coming up with other things to crave...any of which are better than cigarettes. Be careful with the salt, though...during my first pregnancy I craved pretzels and ate them daily, and I ended up with 30 lbs of water weight (mostly around the ankles and feet).

Unfortunately, the Dr. probably won't know much about this. It is my perception that the cravings are the body trying to get something it needs, and is not clear how to get it. (we often see the same thing in "pica") First: Get a good salt. Most salt is purified sodium chloride. Get a salt that is evaporated sea water. Like REAL SALT (which is mined, but not purified) or CELTIC SEA SALT. They are kind of expensive, but you don't use a lot. The sea has 14 different minerals. You need them all. Get some concentrated nutrition, like nutritional yeast- a good source of "B" vitamins. If you can, get a juicer, and juice some carrots, celery, beets. Ask your body. If you take some time, it will usually try to tell you what you need. If it seems to be craving junk, realize that it also needs to learn, and offer alternatives.

Nothin is wrong wit hyou. Your cravings sound normal. The salt I would watch since salt can lead to blood pressure problems. Fruits are great to be eating and sweet tarts..I craved those too lol. I had to have the big chewy sweet tarts on hand at all times. So enjoy the wonderful twists of pregnancy. Your last one sounded nice..to not have all the symptoms that are agrevating but...its normal sweety. Dont flip. Just enjoy it.

I'm 20wks 2days and mine was fried rice mixed with strawberry ice-cream! And the other was hot chips with chicken salt - couldn't get enough in the early days! Now i still crave on and off but the thing that has affected me most is that i can no longer stomach meat. I don't like eating it, smelling it, nothing! I'm sure my darling fiance would kill for a steak but i can't have it in the house so whenever he wants one he has to go out and have it without me around!

Each pregnancy is different, I would watch your salt intake, that could lead to blood pressure problems, but otherwise as long as you are eating a healthy diet, cravings are o.k. to give into. It might be because you quit smoking and food tastes better to you now that you are having all these cravings.

This one is different because EACH one is different from another:) Don't worry, you don't have to see your Dr., nor to get angry or desperate, it will pass:))) With my first one it happened to me the same thing as to you: I stopped smoking before knowing about the pregnancy, because just the smell made me sick. As for cravings, only God knows the things I ate while I was pregnant, I don't even want to think about it:)))

All pregnancies are different. With my first child, I craved sweets and I usually do not eat sweets. With my 2nd, it was starchy foods.
