Its a silver memory card. the game runs fine, just when I go to save it says: ''No memory card in slot 1''. Have cheked without game in console and card is working fine.

I bet not. Is your memory card a diffrent than black? That might be the problem. But I bet you can only play ps1 games on ps1 & ps2 games on ps2

Sadly, you need to use a PS1 memory card to save PS1 games. You can't use a PS2 card. Lame, right?

yes most games of the ps1 ,memory card cant b read on ps2 console

All you would be able to read is 'made in japan'. So put it in the player and allow it to read the memory card!
