By DVD player do you mean on your computer or a standalone?
there are two ways to make your computer region free - Flashing the actual player (dangerous) using firmware or going the software route using any of the region free software hacks.

If it is a standalone under the TV) the way to do it is to flash in new firmware.

BEWARE flashing the chips can knacker your drive if you make a mistake.
There are lots of sites telling you how to flash your drive. Try this one

There are a lot of them, but don't trust any that charge for the service. You're better off phoning up a small business retailer that sells the model you have, and asking if they know the crack codes.

videohelp.com has lots of information on DVDs and do have these codes here. However they do stat that you use them at your own risk.
