All right, are you prepared to answer that question yourself? Or are you now going to assume that anyone who answers you also asks stupid questions? Why indeed, ask questions people regard as stupid?

Well, you put this in the philosophy section, so I feel justified in calling your bluff. When I was an undergraduate philosophy major at the University of Michigan in the 1970s, we had some great old professors who have since become known all over the world, and indeed were then in other philosophy departments. And they asked questions like that. And they asked questions some people would regard as stupid, like: Why be moral? We had one whole semester in a class in which that was the title of the class. One "stupid" question for a whole semester. Imagine.

It was wonderful. The more you poke at a stupid question, the more you get out of it. And the next thing you know, you're learning something important.

Why is there air?

Your question doesn't strike me as being of genius.
You may be forgetting that this site caters to all ages and maturity levels. That being the case certain topics may seem trivial or stupid to you, but the asker is truely wondering about that subject, and it is important to them.
Don't forget that you have the option to skip and ignore any content that for one reason or another doesn't appeal to you.

if i tell you people who ask silly questions are those who wants to be recognised. they may be intellegent and so they may not have any complicated doubts but their mind tells them to interact. humans have found out that the best way to interact is to ask question. no matter what kind of question is it. that is the reason that when you meet a person we ask them atleast one question.
some question may be meaningful but they may not be from the heart. they do it for formality and as i told you for interacting.
