I think before or after the film there would have been no harm in asking at all. Most celebrities have time for the public/fans. They are all entitled to privacy, just like anyone of us - but the privacy part is more to do with the media if you ask me. Camping out outside celebs houses and constantly harrasing them - now that's not on.

Its part of being a celeb, they all know that when they become famous. There are celebs out there that want to be recognised that crave attention and if that was one of those celebs then I'm certain they'd have loved it for you to be asking for an autograph, but on the other hand there are celebs that are more reclusive and prefer to be left alone, still i feel they have a duty to recognise their fans as their fans recognise them.

NO - they should remember who made them a celebrity in the first place - their fans - without their fans they would be nothing.

They may want privacy now they've reached the peak of their career but they should remember that to get their wealth and lifestyle in the first place they needed all the publicity they could get. They can't have the best of both worlds.

I think you did the right thing. We all have a right to privacy. They are not celebs 24/7 only while on the set or stage. It's their job. They all have PR people to arrange off air, off stage events. You go through their people. My spouse is in law enforcement and I go through this all the time.............. If it's serious enough to call us at 3AM then call 911.

They chose to be in the spotlight and they should have the honor and dignity to show appreciation to the fans that elevated thier careers.
I say sure, ask them, be polite and respectfull of their humanity.
If the Goverment can read e.mails and private letters and say it is to stop terrorists, then a Celebrity has no right to privacy because they chose to be in the Public Spotlight and they rely on the Public to keep them there.

You didn't do a bad thing by ignoring him, but some celebs say they love people to come up to them, you could have approached them and told them how much you like their work, or whatever, and been prepared to go away and not be offended if they ask you not to bother them. Just don't latch on to them and talk for hours, that would get on anyones nerves!

Depends on the celeb I think. Some of them are only famous for being famous and they need the adoration of fans because they have no other talent than looking pretty or having big boobs - Jordan, Jade, Victoria Beckham. They just love to see themselves plastered over the papers and mags.

There are others who are reluctant celebs, who prefer to use their talents on stage or screen to portray a character and then retire to do their own thing - Robert DeNiro, Christian Bale.

So I would say it depends who it was.

I think you should give them space, after all they are not at work. There are certain celebrities who milk it for all its worth and seek out the media attention and I reckon they deserve all they get when it backfires. Mostly, though they just wanna go and do their job and lead a normal life which doesn't involve being pestered all the time in public.
