My friend told me alcohol will make you especially sick when you are pregnant. I am a college girl, pretty well known for my alcohol tolerance. on new years i couldnt even finish 2 glasses of champagne without a bad stomache. i cant even tolerate hard liquor anymore i have been drinking wine.
I havent had a period since dec. 3, im nauseous pretty much 24/7, smells make me nauseous, im hungry but the thought eating make me nauseous, and i have had lower abdominal cramps (feels like period but not blood). took a test (negative) on 12/21 i realize it was a little early...

Hi there. It sounds like you may very well be pregnant. Of course I don't know the details so I am just going by what you said.
The important thing though is that if you are pregnant you need to stop any alcoholic beverages immediately. No one knows for sure how much, if any, alcohol is safe during pregnancy. It may depend on how far along you are at the time that you ingest the alcohol. It has been proven tho that even a small amount of alcohol can have a teratogenic affect on the developing fetus. According to the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome this was stated about the intake of alcohol during pregnancy....."Of all the substances of abuse (including cocaine, heroin and marijuana) alcohol produces by far the most serious neurobehavioral effects on the fetus". Of all the effects of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome the most serious is mental retardation. No one knows for sure how much (if any) alcohol is safe to consume while pregnant but the best thing for your baby is to not drink AT ALL when you are pregnant.
I understand that it may have been too early for you to have gotten a positive pregnancy test, but it is not too early to curtail your use of alcohol. Better to be safe than sorry. I would not have any more alcohol until you know for sure whether or not you are pregnant. You will never be sorry for being cautious.
Even tho you are nauseated try to eat small meals, or just a little bit so that your tummy is not totally empty, that makes the nausea worse. Even dry crackers are better than nothing and may actually help settle your stomach.
Take care and good luck. If you are pregnant be sure to schedule an appointment with your doctor and get started on your prenatal vitamins.
If there is anything I can help you with feel free to write to me anytime.
Blessings

Pregnancy will not necessarily make your body intolerant of alcohol, but it can make your stomach more sensitive in general.
OK, your last period was 12/3. Take another pregnancy test now, the 12/21 one was likely too early.
Then see a doctor. Either you're pregnant or there is something else going on with your digestive system.
Also, you need to stop drinking alcohol NOW until you know if you are. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is not normally associated with drinking in the very early stages of pregnancy, but the longer you drink the greater the risk to the baby.

Stop ingesting now when you even suspect a being pregnant. Your frame does no longer "reject" alcohol whilst pregnant. You would simply as effectively be in poor health. 12/21 is WAY too early to have had a being pregnant scan (even a blood scan), but it surely could be correct to take a house scan now.

Is it true that when you are pregnant your body rejects alcohol? No
Go into for another blood test but while you wait on that take an at home test again. Use first morning urine. It does not matter what brand you take cause they are same, only difference is the prices.

Well, if your body doesn't, your mind certainly should. If your child gets fetal alcohol syndrome, it will cause severe damage. I do not frankly know how much you have to drink to cause that, but err on the side of caution, please. You will never forgive yourself if you harm the child.
Mother Nature has her defenses, but you can get past them if you are careless. Please, please, not another drop of alcohol until you find out whether or not you are pregnant.

Please do not drink another drop until you take another test, I would suggest take another one this weekend if you don't start. I knew a girl who drank quite a lot while she was pregnant and her kid is paying for it now.
