The man was a sadistic murderer. He ordered the murder of thousands of his fellow countrymen. He personally watched the torture and murder of his two sons-in-law, as well as hundreds of other human beings. His capture was done by U.S. forces, but Irac judges and courts tried him despite his bellowing and bluster and threats, and the assassination of judges and lawyers, and declared him guilty. Their punishment was death by hanging. Whoever thinks this wasn't justified didn't live through the Second World War or watched much TV or read anything about dictators and their murderous followers. Eventually they are caught and usually hung. Sometimes they are executed by a firing squad, but hanging is the usual method.

I'd like to ask Lovemydog how he thought the Irac people were going to bring Saddam down? He and his brutal "soldiers" had the entire country terrified and under control. No other country in the world stepped in to help the Iraci people, just the U.S. And now our own people condemn the U.S. for it's efforts to help Irac become free.

Saddam Hussein's execution won't going functionality a uniting tension in any helpful way. it is going to whether in all probability unite distinctive smaller sects in a basic damaging concept in direction of the occupying forces. this could very in all probability convey approximately some blood-letting, suicide assaults, kidnapping and efficiently extra of the comparable that has been happening as a result a approaches. that's that in the event that they carry out the sentence. i individually sense it to be so lots extra effective to harness Saddam's impact to restoration order in Baghdad, allowing him an possibility to redeem himself for his deeds (not that events different that Saddam have lots to catch up on, yet thats previous subject remember).

The last minutes of Saddam Hussein

Saddam (as the noose is put around his neck): Ya Allah (Oh God).

Someone in the audience: Mercy be on those who pray for Mohammed and the household of Mohammed (Everyone repeats the prayer, including Saddam)

Executioner and two people in the audience: And hasten his return (the Mehdi), curse his enemy and grant victory to his son, Muqtada, Muqtada, Muqtada! (This is a common Sadrist chant.)

Saddam (smirking): Muqtada?

NSA Muwafaq Al-Rubai'i: To Hell!

Saddam: (laughing)

Prosecutor Munqidh Al-Far'awn: Please, no.

Muwafaq Al-Rubi'i: Long live Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr!

Someone in the audience: To Hell!

Saddam (solemnly recites the Shahada prayer): I witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Mohammed is the messenger of Allah.
I witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Mohammed is the- (trap door is opened).

Audience: Prayers for Mohammed and the household of Mohammed.

Someone: The tyrant has fallen. May Allah's curse be upon him.

Someone: No. No. Stay back.

Someone: Leave him for 8 minutes. Don't take him down.

Someone: Everyone. Stay back.

Yes, maybe not in the american way, but yes that's how their country does there death by punishment. I agree that he deserved to die. I've never seen an american death, but I watched a second of the internet video released of Saddams and it was very chaotic with yelling and cackling. I guess I expected it to be done quitely or something. When someone is put to death in the US I would think it would be done with more of a conservative and professional manner. But, maybe that's their way.

Attack on Iraq was not justified. In fact protests were held throughout world including USA. Saddam is victim of powerful propaganda to justify attack and his past was focused. After he was removed from power, life has no meaning as he has many enemies. His was given a fair trial.

It may have been justified. The problem I have is the USA should not have been the ones to bring him down. His own people should have taken that task on long ago. I just want to know why we aren't going hell bent on capturing the guy that attacted us. Just my opinion.
