Me and my fiance are moving to Scottsdale, by the end of the year. I'm excited, but nervous. I apperciate all the people who wrote back to me on my first question. I've lived in NY all my life. I hate the cold, so being there wouldn't be a problem for me, and plus I've heard low humditiy! My fiance lived in Scottsdale before and fell in love. I trust his judgement. I just hope that it's a good move and change for me. That's why I apperciate anyone to send me some insight, regardless if it's good or bad. Thank you all so much.

Although here in Scottsdale, it is referred to "snobsdale".. it really isn't that bad. A New York personality can take down a Scottsdale personality any day haha! I'm originally from Tucson and moved to the Phoenix area about six years ago. I've lived in Tempe, Glendale, Phoenix and now Scottsdale. I have to say I love living here. We live in Northern Scottdale so it's not in all the congestion of the more central Scottsdale area. Are you looking to buy a home first, condo, rent an apartment? Housing here is a bit high but again, coming from New York.. it probably isn't nearly as bad as housing prices there. If your fiance is familiar already with Scottsdale, I'd say stick with it. I would suggest maybe renting first just so you can get the feel of things, that way.. if you move here and don't like the area.. you aren't stuck with a house payment.

I am from the Great Lakes area, and lived in PHX for about 2 years. I loved it. Only moved back because I was having a baby and thought it would be better to be close to our famililes.
However, I should let you know Scottsdale is better known as "snobsdale" It is a very rich and notoriously stuck up city. You might also want to look into Glendale, especially the Northern part. It is just as beautiful and classy but the people seem to be much more down to Earth.
And if your worried about the heat, if you can handle a NE winter you can candle a SW summer for sure.

The weather will be outstanding (330 sunny days annually) plus consistent lower humidity. July and August are the "monsoon season" (wet & humid), but still very bearable overall. Homes are becoming expensive and the freeway traffic at rush hour is horrible knowing the overall Phoenix suburban area is now appoaching 3 million residents. You can easilly drive to Prescott or Flagstaff in the summer months to escape the heat which can be consistently 105-112 degrees from mid June until early Sept..
