Not only the meaning of life, but the quality of it, would probably decline if everyone were immortal. There certainly would not be reason to live a good and moral life, for immortality gives man no incentive to care about a heaven or hell. Also, the good fear that keeps most humans rational and reasonable beings, would be abolished. These realizations would result in chaos. People shooting each other, or jumping off of mile-high buildings just for the hell of it, might be common. Then there's the issue of time. Immortality makes it infinite. That could be interpreted as good or bad, but I'd bet on bad, since maximum boredom might make some people wish to die.

Yes, death is a terrible thing for everybody it leaves behind; that I know. However, ultimately, it is a necessary inevitability of life, that ensures order in the world of the living.

So overall:
Immortality= BAD, Death=NECESSARY

I guess it depends on the person.... for a good person it would increase because they would have something to live for, a noble purpose perhaps. For a bad person it would decline.

Decrease, decrease, decrease! Immortality would increase self-confidence to the max, & that can be good for some....but for others (the majority of mankind) it will only lead to destruction.

the meaning would stay the same, but the value placed on life would increase as the expectations would be much higher.

Increase. Then dying would really be an issue, instead of a fact.

in a sense it would decline, becuz as receiving life is part of living so is dying...... and plus it must be one of most scariest existences to never be able to die
