can anyone tell me how to get round or bypass surf contol? im at work and its blocking nearly all web sites i wont to look at and i really want some guitar tabs off the net

Just go to an Internet cafe & download what you want ... why are you willing to risk your job over such a silly thing ?

You can try messing about with SSH, or using an anonymiser web browser, but a more honest approach that would avoid you getting sacked would be to ask your IT department or manager for access to the site you want to look at. Of course, if your contract or work IT policy says you're not allowed to use the web for personal use while at work, then don't bother asking, just use the web at home, at a friends, or at an Internet cafe.

If someone does advise you how to get round it, do bear in mind it could possibly be a sackable offense - wait until you get home, please!
