Have you tried to go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and seeing if it's on the list? Sometimes those stupid spy programs can be loaded right on, but you can delete them that way. Look on that list for any suspicious programs that you don't recognise or that sound funny, and delete them. I have had to do that before when my Norton has gone on the blink. I would suggest getting a better Virus protection software, like Norton Antivirus. Do Live Updates EVERY DAY!
Good luck, I know they can be very annoying!

You need a good commerical-grade spyware scanner to get rid of this type of thing. I got rid of SpySheriff using the removal instructions on this website:
http://bestspywarereport.com/spy-sheriff-removal.html
It not only got rid of SpySheriff, but also found and removed a bunch of other garbage on my PC.
Good Luck!

Hi there,
Here's some detailed information on the SpySherrif infection:
http://virusinfo.prevx.com/viruscenter.asp?returnpage=default&GRP=4738900018
The best and easiest way to remove this is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

If it won't heal it you need to select [move to virus vault]. That will secure it so that it poses no threat any longer to your PC.
