Of course now that I know I'm pregant I have stopped everything (alcohol, smoking, etc) but I am still uneasy as I have read differing opinions on the effects of marijuana use during the first trimester...

Don't believe the hype.

There is so much misleading information out there about the use of cannabis.
If there are any problems with the fetus cannabis is not the cause.
If you stopped you are helping the baby because smoking itself reduces the amount of oxygen in your blood stream.
Do things that you enjoy to do. Babies like the endorphins, it makes them feel happy and secure in their mom's womb.

Don't worry, I used to smoke too before finding out that I was pregnant, and now I am the proud mother of two beautiful, healthy girls. Of course I stopped smoking and even staying near someone who was smoking, the most important thing is protecting the new life growing inside you:) And you can do that by protecting yourself, thinking that ANYTHING you do goes to your baby, there's nothing you can do wrong if you follow this simple rule. As for the joints, pregnant or not, I really can't find a sense to it...but everyone is free to make his or her own choices...good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it for there really is nothing you can do now. The first 12 weeks are the most important weeks for the baby is developing all of it's major organs, etc.
As long as you have stopped all the bad stuff now and continue to eat healthy , moderate excerise and take your prenatal vitamins you should be fine. I am not a Dr. but do have two myself ,27 month old and a 4 month old.
Just be smart and take of yourself.
Best Of Luck!!!

Don't believe the Hype.
You're fine. Alcohol and tobacco are the 2 biggest health risks not weed. If you have stopped, you're fine as the first month the fetus is less fragile as there is no heartbeat yet. When it becomes an embryo you need to watch all intake, exercise daily, and get lots of calcium, protein and sleep.
Congratulations!!Mom.

Don't worry until your doctor says "there's something wrong." You did nothing malicious and a lot of mothers have done a lot worse and they and their babies have been fine.

At least you weren't dropping Thalidomide

I think you will be fine. Doctors will say anything to scare you but since you have quit all the bad stuff don't sweat it.
