no. with an ipod you are forced to use crappy itunes.

The iPOD nano is without doubt the sexiest player around but to be honest the sound quality is pretty poor.
I'm sure other people have there own opinion as to the best sounding player but I've been using the sony NW-a1000 for over a year and its amazing.
True its not as small as the nano and the sonic stage software is pretty poor but at the end of the day you're buying a player to play music and that should be your number 1 consideration.
Sony have been making walkmans for years and have constantly been improving the hardware and walkmans are known for superior bass responses
If you do buy the sony though you should remove the volume limiter as this greatly improves the sound quality

Baaaaaa - IPod/Apple sheep unite. The best ? A joke.
Make your own mind up - IPod is more expensive, less flexible, breaks easily, costly to repair, Apple claim they have short lifetime (18-24 months) on their website, won't accept WMA format (which is smaller and better than MP3), they pinched the structure for tunes from Creative, and everyone knows someone who had an IPod that went wrong. Need I say more?

I just had an iPod Nano in Blue for xmas, and compared to my old MP3 player (Packard Bell Audiokey) iPod is the best.
They have a good range of accessories and prices aren't bad if you look around!

Depends on what you're looking for, really. There are enough different kinds out there to shop around and see what you like. I have an iPod Shuffle and I like it, and anyone who knows me will tell you that I have a major bias towards Apple, but that's me. Check 'em all out and see what you like.
For the record, the battery glitch mentioned above was fixed a couple of years ago.

NO its just the one that had the marketing behind it, there have been numerous complaints about it, one being their batteries. They are all made in chinese sweat shops.You would really need to listen to a few different types. I have iRiver which is a very good brand, they come standard with sennhiesser earphones.

I have a i-pod Nano and i love it!!!!i put on a skin and a sock on it
and its really cool!!!i-pod is by far the best MP3 player on the market!!!!

In my experience the i-pod is by far the best and has the most accessories on the market.
