Hi there dear, I understand what you are asking, you want to know if they will schedule your delivery several weeks before your due date. You are not asking if you will be in the hospital for a couple of weeks before you are due!
The answer really depends on why you are having the C-section. In any case they will wait until they are sure that your baby is fully developed and ready to be born. With new technics they can pinpoint the age of the baby and there is very seldom any chance that the baby will be born too early. If this is not your first baby the risk that you might go into labor spontaneously is greater. They do not want to wait too long and take the chance that you will go into labor. They will weigh those factors and pick a date that best protects you and the baby.
This is a question that you really need to talk to your doctor about as each case (and each doctor) is different.
You will go into the hospital the day that your delivery is scheduled though I suppose there are some places that still might ask you to go in the day before. Most doctors know that you will sleep better at home in your own bed and they want to limit the time that you are in the hospital.
All four of my deliveries were C-sections and I had a wonderful experience each time. I was awake for each delivery and I got to see my babies born. I got to hold them each immediately and I even got to nurse them right away. I never felt any pain at all (after the spinal you are numb for several hours after your baby is born) and I felt like all I missed were the contractions!
You did not mention how far along you are. If there is enough time you may want to check into Cesarean Childbirth classes. They are wonderful and real wealth of information. I would highly recommend them to you.
Good luck honey, talk to your doctor, she is the best source of information in this case. If there is anything I can share with you that might help, feel free to write to me.
Good luck!
Blessings
Lady T~

An C-section is usually used as a last resort or for special circumstances like multiple births or personal requirements. Doctors and midwives will always try and leave the patient for as long as possible, without compromising her or her baby's health, as some of the most crucial developments occur in the last trimester. Even with elected c-sections, a date is rarely set more than 2 weeks in advance, and only when your midwife is happy that your baby has reached it's full development potential inside the womb and would benefit from an early delivery.

I've had two pre-booked C-Sections. They normally book you in at 39 weeks (some areas still do 38 weeks but apparently they like to wait now until 39 weeks) and you go to hospital on the morning the procedure is scheduled. I've also had a so-called natural birth the first time around and can honestly say that a c-section is much better. Good luck.

I had a bath with the guidance of my husband and nurse, an afternoon after my c-section. It become puzzling before everything to get off the mattress and that i did journey some discomfort and pulling so it truly is needed you get guidance in the previous taking a bathtub or bathe. after I were given off the mattress the first time, it were given more effective useful extremely rapidly. daily I felt more effective useful and larger useful. it truly is needed now to not raise some thing or do some thing strenuous for round 6 weeks after the c-section although so do not anticipate to be operating round too a lot! i imagine it takes a good 3 months in the previous you experience like you are able to stroll longer distances and that i hit upon that my scar continues to be somewhat mushy 9 months later. it really is a lengthy procedure so basically be prepared to take it hassle-free if you're convalescing.

I have had two c-sections and with both only went in on the morning of the s-section you will only need to go in earlier if you go into pre term labour or if there are complications with the baby otherwise normally day before or on the day and then youll be kept in the hospital for three days before they discharge you or more then again if you have any complication good luck its a great experience :)

It depends on your and the babys' health to when the C sec is booked for... If you and baby are fine then you will go in 2 weeks before the original due date... You will go in the day the C sec is booked for. You will leave when the Dr says that you and baby are fine!!! This could be the next day or upto 5 days later... This depends alot on the babys health and if is feeding properly...

Usually, the midwife/doctor will schedule your c-section 1 week before your due date to ensure that you do not go into labor and your "scheduled" surgery does not become an "emergency" surgery because you went into labor!

depends on why your having it - I was supposed to have mine two weeks before my due date to avoid my going into labour at full term, but I wanted to wait a little longer so we agreed on 2 days before due date. Its something you'll get to discuss with your consultant nearer the time depending on your circumstances but if they're trying to get baby out before you give birth naturally then they won't leave it too late so usually a week or two would be average
