Earth was a bit plain in the beginning, but she grew up quite nicely round now.

well no, despite the Spanish thought that, and they had to be proved wrong by an Italian, that's how low they'd sunk! I mean, the world isn't even level for starters, that's a bit of a giveaway if you ask me, look around you Carlos, there's mountains and hils for heavens sake!
