Hydrocortisone is Pregnancy category "C", even topically, which means that there isn't any great proof one way or the other, but it has been associated with some risk. (Generally anything "A" or "B" is safe. "C" drugs require a long discussion with your doctor.) Steroid (hydrocortisone is a steroid) use has been associated with cleft palate, adrenal suppression, low birth weight, and cataracts in infants. This is true even when it's used in a cream. So, I would say, buy some other moisturizer without drugs in it, and deal with it that way.

Side note: Steroid cream use on your face, even when you are not pregnant can permanently discolor your face and cause patchy light and dark spots. Dont' use it on your face unless you doctor gives it to you!

It's been a debate on the use of steroids during pregnancy. I was told not to but every doctor may have their own opinion on the matter. You might want to consult your doctor and make a judgement call. I myself don't recommend it...I'd probably go with a safer moisturizer. Like a previous reply...You can look online for pregnancy safe products! Good Luck and hope you find something to help. Dry skin can be a pain in the butt during pregnancy especially this time of year.

You very well might get some rude answers on here. I know how hard it is to get into the Dr, but I would reccommend calling with something like this because you don't want to get the wrong advice. Some idiot might tell you it's ok when it really isn't.

Call your doctor and best of luck

My wife's doctor said better not use it, but to use a moisturizer instead, but make sure it doesn't have any anti-aging stuff in it. There is tons on information online on makeup stuff to avoid while pregnant. Salicylic acid is another one to avoid. Hope this helps.

I know i was told not to, and i think it can depend on what trimester you are in. I would ask the chemist, may be you could use a product like evening primrose oil, that works a treat.

I think so because sometimes yeast infections can be common, and doctors try to cure them before they become something more serious. Ask your doctor to be sure. Good luck and congrats
