definetely public. at least there they will mix with every type of class,and open thine eyes to daily dilemas which some people never experience,will give you much more insight into relating with children from all walks of life and could gain you invaluble experience that no training course ever could. just remember your shin pads and dont carry large amounts of cash with you.

I teach in the UK. The school system here means that the term PUBLIC means the same as PRIVATE (fee paying schools). STATE schools are government funded and they are very varied depending on where you want to work.
Think about what you mean by 'best'.... If it is simply a matter of academic excellence then generally speaking you could say that fee paying schools may be 'best'. If you mean 'best' in terms of a holistic approach to education then possibly not...

The school system here works completely different.
For example, people will say a snobbish well educated girl is a 'public school girl'. This means she had a good education and likely came from a priviledged home.
I still don't know how it goes.
