Having read this passage from the website below, my understanding is that a body will decompose in the normal way. ...'They buried the pigs under the sidewalk of the M5i building, slowly discovering that wet concrete that dries on top of rotting corpses acquires the smell of dead pig, especially when the gases from the rotting pigs percolates up through the wet concrete. All of this was to show that their equipment could detect a buried body beneath concreate, and also show that a body encased in concrete creates a pocket around it from the gases.'

If you watched waking the dead on Monday (brilliant series), you will have seen what happens to a body buried in concrete. However, eventually the body will decay as the acid in the concrete will eat away at the skin. That is why you find many bricklayers have to wear gloves because of the acid in the cement.

The body should decay, because even if nothing 'external' can invade it, there are still plenty of bacteria within a healthy (albeit dead) body that are going to need something to munch on...

It goes stiff, and very very hard!!
Decay is delayed as no air or moisture advances decomposition. Also no bugs can survive in the cadaver.
Happy thoughts!!

I'd imagine the same thing as what happens to fossils.
