I would start with some thing like "The Tree House Book" and maybe a book on decks, as advanced decks built around trees will be similar problems. if possible I would want at least part of the strucure built on pilings maybe framing around the trunk to allow the tree to grow larger w/o damaging the structure. Too many variables to help more. As an old scouter I would be looking at some lashings rather than metal fastenings if this is a short life span project. If a long term project, or a dwelling rather than a play structure talk to your building inspector.

Building a tree house is rather simple. The difficult part is finding a tree that will support a house 30 feet in the air.
