Just bought my 3rd system supposidly a better one having a pentium d 3400 chip dual core, 1024 ram, g force graphics card, dont know very much at all about computers and wonderin if ive been ripped off again! when i go into the start menu or anything else seems to be quiute slow considering i got told even the egg timer wudnt appear? my old processor was a sempron 3800 crap! seems bout same speed as that!

Your CPU should not be slow ... by any standards.
I'm certain the problem is software or OS related.

You need to reload the OS
If you have a D3.400 (that would be the intel D950) thats a kick *** chip, i have the same one, works fast as hell and i havent been able to max it out yet, meaning running it at 100 CPU%

the duo is multicore. it quite is totally virtually like having 2 processors. yours is in basic terms a million/2 the fee. Your computing gadget does no longer meet the standards. except the pentium d is likewise twin center.
