I agree with two of the ladies who said-it takes time.I started in school when I was 15-basics.How to cut your material, adjust a pattern, things like -how to run a sewing machine and all about scissors, pins, hems, and hemming. There are schools that have classes at night where they teach all this,,for small fees. Then you start sewing at home-pillow covers, curtains, then blouses and skirts and pants. After about 7 years you'll have learned enough, that you'll be able to do a fitted jacket. Then after years, your daughter says" Iwant you to make my wedding dress"To do what you want-you need lots of school, and good teachers. If you want to go into business-you need a good head for business.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but if you're planning on starting your own company, first you need to be business wise (you need to do spell check too). You can take classes at Joanne Fabrics but they won't teach you all you need to know for professional results. It takes lots of years of practice like the other person said like 7 years....You will probably have to invest in classes. Good luck to you--at least you have ambitiion!

do you know how to sew already? if so then you need to keep at it maybe take some classes to help refine your process so your clothes look professional. I don't know how long it will take because that totally depends on you.
