Webster defines the word profane as " 1 : to treat (something sacred) with abuse, irreverence, or contempt". So you could consider any sacred word, such as damn, hell, Jesus Christ, God, etc to be profanity or swearing when it's used in any other context.
The whole idea is that you're not supposed to use sacred words for emphasis.
Exodus 20:7 (New International Version)
"You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Ephesians 4:29 (New International Version)
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

You have to consider the context the words were used in. Maybe they were saying "Hell? No!!!!" As in, Hell is a bad thing. You need to listen to the whole song and figure it out.
