My gf is living in the Philippines. She tried to get her passport, but was denied because of spelling errors on her and her children's birth certificates. ANY advice on dealing with this would be MOST appreciated.

an NSO-certified (NSO-National Statistics Office) birth certificate is necessary for Philippine passport application of your gf and her children. all of them. of course you have to pay certain fees to process the said documents and you have several options as to how soon you would want them to be processed. obviously, it would be quicker if you pay more. i wonder why they were denied coz now, it's the legitimate document to use so that shouldn't be a problem. you may check the website:

If the errors on the birth certificates won't affect the their ages all they need is to go to a lawyer and ask to make them affidavits for the correction of entry. then they have to submit it to the local civil registrar where they were born. then the corrected documents will be forwarded by the local civil registrar to the national statistics ofc where your gf can get the corrected copy of their BC. Tell her to go to a good lawyer.
