In a word, MONEY! Thats what gets me up in the morning, and I'm considering starting my own business! When you are self employed, it is nice to know you can take the day off when you feel like it, but that ain't gonna make you money, is it? Even if I were loaded, even if I won the lottery tonight, I would still go out there and work. I know what it is like though, to lack motivation to do things, I suffer from it too, especially when the task in hand is an unpleasant one, but sooner or later you know you have to get around to it. The way I motivate myself to do things like that is to stop, take stock and think about exactly how I'm going to do it, and even imagine possible problems and how to get around those should they arise. I hope you manage to pick yourself up, if it's really bad, maybe you should see the doctor, you could be depressed and the doctor could prescribe something for you?

Have a cup of tea and remind yourself that if you don't work, you don't get paid. It's not like you'll get sick pay or anything.
The sooner you get started, the earlier you can finish for the day.
Also you are doing this for yourself, not working slave labour for some ungrateful fatcats. So get to it!
One of the hardest things about being self-employed with no employees is the sheer boredom. You don't have anyone to talk to all day. So try and make it interesting, or cut the day into time slots. And remember the reasons why you decided to become employed. Remember what you hated about working for other people, and you'll feel a bit better.

I maintain my study schedule by reminding myself how it will feel when I get all my work done, and remember the result, rather than the immediate chore.
Example: I finish my studies in psychology I can do well at making money. I will have a better life.
When I had my own business, I simply thought out the day's activities, made up my mind to block out all possible distractions and set to my work.
I hope this helps!
