I stayed there twice.

It's like every other Marriott, except the rooms are smaller. I think normally the price is about 200 pounds, so it's one of the better hotels in town; although there are plenty more to suit really big spenders.

It's halfway up Edgware Road, about 300 m from Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park.

That part of town is good for changing money and buying used sim cards for your GSM/PCS mobile phone (they're not stolen).

You will also find many ethnic restaurants along Edgeware Road.

It's not too close to the centre (using Trafalgar Sq as a reference for centre), but the Central Line is not far away and it's a pretty short ride to everywhere.

I particularly enjoy walking through Hyde Park towards Buckingham Palace (through Green Park) and onwards through St. James's Park. You emerge right near Parliament and Trafalgar Square, but it's a couple of Km walk.

I haven't stayed at this hotel, however, if you want a reasonable deal (for London), the Regent Palace Hotel is very central, being just around the corner from Piccadilly Circus.

Hi

I used to work just round the corner from this hotel. It is in a great location particularly if you like shopping. This link offers you some of the key places to visit whilst you are in London, which are close to your hotel http://www.enjoyengland.com/where/destinations/london/the-west-end.aspx

Have a nice time.
