in relation to the whereabilty of nucleus

I'm not sure what whereability of the nucleus means, but the reason mitosis is so short is because while the cell is dividing and the nucleus is disrupted all other cellular activity ceases (no transcirption, no translation, etc...). A cell (or two cells) won't survive very long with a disrupted nucleus and no cellular actvity.

Mitosis has to be a short time span its the actual division of the cells, some cells have a short table life so it has to be quick to replace the other cells
