Bush says "He understands that the safety of the nation and his legacy is all on the line here." I'm sry but to hear him say these 2 statements in one breath is too much, he should be concerned for the SAFETY of the nation, NOT his legacy.

What legacy? Death? Destruction? Ruining America's reputation in the world?

He will always be remembered as the worst president.

Sinclair Lewis wrote a play in the 1930s about what would happen if America had a fascist president. It's prophetic and scary:

'When fascism arrives in America it will come as a Christian cross wrapped in an American flag.'

Call your Senator today and demand that they restore our right of 'habeus corpus.' Until this is reversed, tyranny rules America.

The problem Bush has is that his legacy, no matter what he does from this point onewards will be tied to the Iraq war. He should relise this and focus more on home issues, like the stuttering US economy.

Its the same with Blair over here, his legacy is tarnished by one moment of madness. Sadly he still chases that dream and its sad that two of the most powerful men in the world can't put their place in history down to helping their countries rather than fighting a war which was illegal and complete disaster.

Bush realizes that his reputation rises and falls on the mess he got us into in Iraq. He's desperate to win this war, an impossibility.LBJ is considered a failed President because he escalated our troops in Vietnam after JFK's assassination. Bush's "legacy" is built on the dead and injured troops in Iraq. He'll be considered a failed President.
