The best superstars used to be The Rock and Stone Cold.
Now I would say that it is HHH and HBK. Forget the DX run that didn't really go well. Think about them seperately. There are four things that make a superstar:
good at wrestling
over with the crowd as a face or heel
good mic skills
entrance that gets the crowd excited
HHH and HBK have all them things. I personally prefer HHH though

Right now, I think the focus should be on who can be a future WWE superstar. There are many talented wrestlers, but two that I think have the most potential right now are:
C.M. Punk - They really aren't using Punk to his fullest potential. I've been a fan since his Ring of Honor days and the guy is charismatic and an amazing wrestler. He's an excellent heel who knows how to work a crowd.
Johnny Nitro - He reminds me of a combination of Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels. I think he'll go far, if used right. He's also proven himself some in his recent feud with Jeff Hardy.

Triple H and Kurt Angle...oh wait...Triple H is out for 9 months and Angle jumped to TNA.
Well, other than that I would have to say Batista and Chris Benoit. Both of them are being used poorly because of the lack of talent on both shows. That's why WWE needs to combine both brands into one again. No more need for multiple brands when they dont have the talent to fill them.
Batista because he is one of the few "big guys" left that is actually talented. He can carry on a great match. Brock Lesnar would be another great "big guy" but he's in Japan, and from what I heard TNA would be his next stop if he returns to the U.S.
Benoit because he is pure wrestler. He can perform a great match and keep is traditional. Also one of the hardest workers and a former horseman in WCW.

I'm a cena fan but i don't think he is the best right now. I would go with either shawn michaels or the undertaker. these two have been around for a long time and have proven themselves to the crowd and everybody loves them. the year they retire, the wwe will put them in the hall of fame. the heartbreak kid and the deadman, the best the wwe have ever seen.

The Undertaker and Batista
Taker gets my nod because he has gone through all sorts of weird gimmicks (Impostor Taker and Taker's Death) and still maintains the loyalty of his fans as well as his phenomenal aura. Plus he seems to be some sort of 'standard' in pro wrestling. I mean, a wrestler has arrived or reach some level if he gets to take on the Phenom inside the ring. Better if its a Wrestlemania event.
Batista is not really the best...it takes time but...aside from the fact that I like him...Batista
...uses the devastating Batista Bomb
...adds new moves in his arsenal
...defeated HHH in three spectacular events including the Cerebral Assassin's forte - Hell in a Cell

The best "original" wrestler that is still around would be the Undertaker. "Original" means that they were around in the WWF era. But since I don't watch anymore they could have turned him into a punk like the rest of them. I mean he was at one time a motorcycle dude, which was lame dude. So the new question would be who is the most entertaining. The answer is the Divas I guess.

The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels and Hunter Hearst Helmsley both are good but I prefer them as the team Dx

Hardys, and you need no details, its a simple fact. they hav been messed around for the last couple of years. but simply they are pure talent and work together with there opponent in a different way to give a completly different show.

john cena is currently the best wwe 'overall package' superstar . he can wrestle for sure , he has the best mic skills since the day's of the rock and he definitely gets the biggest pops when his music hits!!
