Why is it the democrats are in an uproar about the war in Iraq when it takes an act of all three branches of the government to go to war. The president doesn't act upon what he sees with his own eyes either. He acts on what other people tell him, from the lowly private to the secretary of defense and the vice president.

By the way, I am an veteran of both OIF and OEF. No one pointed a gun to my head to make me join the service. I signed up for the United States Army damn well knowing what I was getting into and I don't regret it to this day. War is hell don't get me wrong, but there will always be war and there is nothing we can do about it. Therefore we will always need soldiers to protect our freedoms and way of life. Please don't tell me that you are tired of our countries soldiers dying for nothing. The men and women of the military are proud of what they do and while it is dangerous and it sucks and at the time you don't want to do it, when it is over you look back and have a sense of pride. One more thing. Over 75% of the military is Republican and voted for Bush twice.

People blame the President because he is the face of the nation. It has always been this way and always will be. The real question is the root cause of that blame. Sadly much of is based on distortions, denial of fact, or speculation presented as fact without proper evidence. You can see that in at least 2 answers here. You have one person saying the president ordered fabricated intelligence evidence. While it is true that the president acted on what now appears to be faulty intelligence, but there has been absolutely no evidence presented to support a conclusion that he ordered a fabrication. This position also ignores the fact that the same intelligence was available before Mr. Bush was in office and the same conclusions were reached by the UN and most of America's leadership. The second is this idea that Democrats were against the war and could do nothing to stop it. This position ignores the actual reality that Congress voted in a major majority containing both Republicans and Democrats to fund the war, and have continue to vote that way on subsequent votes for funding. The real answer is that people only see what they want to see and deny anything that is not convenient to their position and view on matters.

Because for some, they just DON'T WANT to open their eyes, ears and minds and think for themselves. It is easy to continue to preach the same old stuff, because they really hate him. They think Gore should have won and they have been on a vendetta ever since, with that being their ONLY concern, get rid of Bush at any cost, even the security of their own country.

guess its because of that good ole boy who was president who said the buck stops here.
a us president is a defacto world leader,
with that much power the us dollar goes to war when the pres says jump its only how high
only the lobby holds more power,
money talks ,despite the us holding the mint and the fed it pays ursary ,but its not georges fault a president can go to war but look at what happened to jfk when he signed pres order 11.110
some powers of the president result in blame and others in death
be glad its not our choice ,be thankfull he has wise old heads to advise the solutions that ever fail.

The Democrats never fail to take the opposite tack of whatever the President does. I think it's because they still can't get over Al Gore's defeat in 2000 and it colors everything they say and do.

They acted upon a pack of lies told them by the Bush administration. Bush instructed his people to fabricate evidence to justify his intent to wage a war with Iraq. If the truth would have been divulged to all concerned parties at the time, the war with Iraq would never have taken place. So, therefore Bush is to blame for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

The Prez is the symbol of his party. Sadly this particular one, Bush, is an untalented, inarticulate and rather ignorant individual who is trying to justify the unjustifiable unilateral actions of his administration. Clearly, Bush is not to blame all that much, as he knows very little of what is really going on, whatsmore he is not very interested in aquiring any knowledge. He is the hood ornament of the neocons whose policies he mouths through the spiel that Karl Rove dictates. The electorate is rather apathetic but not stupid and thay have seen through this charade.

over the last six years the republican have had control the house and Senate. what Dem's wanted did not matter. now everything is screwed up. bush, himself brought most of the bill, and/or actions that got us to this point, had his rubber stamp congress passed them through. the Dem's could do nothing about it. that's why. the deficit-bush, the war-bush, immigration-bush, dying economy-bush, outsourcing -bush, he aided or started everyone of these problems. who do you blame? no one has had any power except him for the last six years.

BTW, Julie s, bush is from Conn. born, educated. raised. the Texas house was a vacation house. not where they lived. he became gov because Texan didn't care they were voting in a Yankee. his daddy owned the press.

He hasn't listened to the people. We don't want any more of our young to die for a war that no one really knows what we are there for.
