Why is it the democrats are in an uproar about the war in Iraq when it takes an act of all three branches of the government to go to war. The president doesn't act upon what he sees with his own eyes either. He acts on what other people tell him, from the lowly private to the secretary of defense and the vice president.

To those who say that the president could have tried diplomacy first, that's EXACTLY what everyone did. There were numerous UN resolutions and Saddam refused to cooperate. What are you to do with people who refuse to cooperate? If there are no consequences, there is no motivation for them to do what we need them to do. Good night!

He may act stupid at but his advisers are very intelligent. When you refer to the President of the United States you have to stop and realize that everything is predetermined. It was his decision to invade Iraq not the Democratic minority at the time. They are planning a major offensive this year because they know if they succeed they can come home with sort of a victory. I think the people in this country are sick and tired of the war and the real reason we are there. Of course George Bush isn't the blame for everything but his style of politics is disturbing. I think he has given people from other countries the wrong impression of what America stands for. If the Iraqi's want freedom they may have to earn it the way we did over 200 years ago. We can't continue nation building without global support and funding.

Because he is the Executive Branch. He misled the other 2 branches to go to war and refuses to back away now that he has been proven wrong. Therefore he is responsible for the war. And don't try that he acted on what he was told because he still had the final say in the matter. He could have tried diplomacy and chose to shoot first and not bother to even ask a question.

I am no liberal, but I think that it was George Bush's idea to go to war. Politicians jumped on the bandwagon and supported him. Both parties are to blame for this botched war. We should have bombed Afghanistan off the face of the earth after 9/11, but instead we de-stabilized a large portion of the Mideast by ousting Saddam Hussein. Hussein was an evil dictator for sure, but we had no business overthrowing him.
