You give liberals a bad name the fact that you ask why Bush had Saddam executed and about the UN shows that you don't do a lot of critical reading and you don't know what the **** you are talking about.

Bush did not make the decision about Sadam's execution but I do believe that the USA was influencial in making sure that Sadam went on trial for the 148 deaths rather than the thousands of Kurds. That might have been a bit embarassing since the gas was supplied by the US.

The UN is a bit weak but, thank goodness, it is not run by the USA. It did not support the USA on the invasion of Iraq even when Colin Powel stood up and showed all the areas where there were WMDs were located. Of course, all of that was bogus!

The UN did push back the Iraqis during the Gulf war as I remember correctly but, again, they wisely kept out of the GWs present mess in Iraq.

That is a good question-what's the use of the UN? All they do is make resolutions that have no consequences, condemn any nation that contradicts their "one world" vision, and blame the US for every thing wrong with the world. So you tell me-what IS the purpose of the UN?

As for Bush's influence on the Saddam trial and execution-he didn't order it. He did allow us to act as a bounty hunter-and thank God that we did! The murderer is dead. This, as Martha Stewart would say, is a good thing.

As the others mentioned Iraqis ordered the execution of Saddam, not Bush.
As for the UN not one country in the world cares about the UN, except to use it to ***** about another country. No one pays it any mind. Not even the good old frenchies that used the oil for food program to slip millions of dollars to Saddam under the table for extra oil contracts. Which is why they did not want us to invade Iraq. Cost them millions of dollars a year.

Well first let me say I cannot stand Bush or his beliefs....but the fact still remains he did not order Saddams death....the Iraqi peoples Judicial system did. Unless you are seeing Bush's Lie's to invade Iraq and help put the same people he (Saddam) hated in power as his order in a indirect way.

And Bush showed that He himself cares not what the UN thinks.....they said that the US had no right to engage Iraq when we did but did he listen...Nope and he isn't listening to what the American people said this past November....Bring them home!

I say Impeach him!

Bush had nothing to do with the trial or verdict or the hanging. It was the Iraqi government that ran the trial, found him guilty, and executed him. Why don't you read up on current events? And by the way, Saddam was a mass-murderer. GUILTY!

The point of the U.N. is to inform countries that their actions do not make the U.N. happy, and if those countries continue those actions, the U.N. will send them letters telling them how unhappy they are. If it still continues, the U.N. will pass resolutions that it doesn't enforce.
