The day some one realized people don't want answers they want slogans and to hear only what they want to hear. they dont want to bother knowing the other side to a story.
its the same with debates. Debate is dead because people would rather answer with insult and personal attacks than with real thought out answers.
I don't think it is just Americans, in this modern era with instant information no one cares to actually learn anything, they can just look it up on the Internet and not bother trying to go any further in depth in to a subject.
I cant say exactly when it happened but I have noticed it steadily increasing over the last 20 years.
Add on: dont belive me look at the answer above mine and tell me thats an intelegent well thought out answer that doesnt go in to personal attacks and is not completly one sided.

Could you be more specific. Watch the news for an hour, the questions and the issues we face in this country every day are hard.

when politicians ceased listening, apathy has swept the nation, its not the same as back in the Vietnam war days, where no matter which side of the debate you were on you were informed and active. Complacency and following blindly is exactly what politicians depend on.

When we found out we were being sold out by the very leaders we elected to office. When we were lied into war only to have our country given away without a shot. When we watched helplessly while our fellow citizens suffered in our own country while our government was on vacation. When we saw family members die from lack of medical treatment, while the drug companies and health care got richer. When we found out large corporations lied to the public, while they paid their CEO's millions. When we saw our country being sold off to foreign countries. When we spent millions for home land security and left millions of illegals walk across our borders. When we were told social security is running out but the president wants to give it to illegals. When even our toll highways are being sold to foreign countries. Why ask? We already know. America has been sold out.

Because PC Americans can not handle the answers when the answers aren't PC (truthful--but not PC).

What are you talking about or referring too, are we talking about asking tough questions in Y!A, or is it a political reference. Anyway, I'll assume for safety purposes that its here in Y!A, maybe its because everybody just dumps on peoples questions constantly, and is not being polite about it.

you never get an answer anyway, someones always trying to twist the question to talk about what they want. if its a forum where they cant do that, they don't go.
