I have a sister that works with horses and has done since she left school (about 10 year ago) she has spent thousands of pounds getting her degree in Equine Science, her BHS Stages, Trekking Certificates and her Horse Whispering Qualifications. She has been passionate about horses since she was 7 years old.
She is now looking at other carers as she spends each winter cold wet and miserable as along with the breaking, schooling, and coaching she has to act as a stable hand and often has to remove poo from fields with a pick axe during the winter. That's the only way to make money in the business.
Only go for a job in this field if you are 100% committed to the prospect of having to work in miserable conditions

No. Work on your plan. Chances are if you 'just go for it' things won't work out that well. Horses have needs and expense. It's ironinc how fragile horses are, but they are, they are prey animals. They can get hurt easily and die in a hurry from many things. How would you like to have a dead horse in your yard? Not at all I am certain, but that can happen very easily if you are not extremely careful. I suggest that you visit some farms, look around, enjoy the horses, ask a lot of questions then improve your plan, then proceed when you are prepared.

What exactly are you asking? If you should get a job with horses? OK, that is fine. Or are you asking if you should ditch the kids? That is kind of what it sounds like when you say you love horses buty your kids take up a lot of your time. In that case, I say give them to someone who will love them if you love horses so much more.

now let me say this, i am an avid horse lover! im nuts about those four legged beautys and im possitivly obsessed!! so heres my advice:
take a day out of your week to call a babysitter for the kids and find a nice stable to ride at where they let you groom and tack up your own horse and take a riding lesson. this way you not only have something to look forward to each week, something to strive towards and brighten up a cloudy day but you also get one day a week to yourself to relax and unwind from daily problems and forget your troubles which brings me to my next point:
now since i am a horse freak i find that when i am near horses I am absloutly happy. being near horses calms my soul and every part of my being. they relieve my stress and give me one on one time with a beautiful creature who doesnt care how much money i make or how smart i am but just cares about getting as much love and attetion as they can squeeze out of me. to be next to these gentle creatures is soothing and relaxing. they work miracles for the soul and each time i step away from the stable i feel rejuvinated and ready to take on whatever the world throws at me.
so yes definatly get back to horses because all they can do is help to heal and replenish you. they are just waiting to be loved and give love in return. if they truely make you happy don't give them up!

Chase your dream whilst your still young enough. As a youngster, I wanted to train racehorses. I also dabbled with trotters (harness racing). But being in town, couldn't get either. So I started training racing greyhounds and 33 years later decided to pull the pin. Never got around to training horses but we live on 5 acres and besides a menagery of animals, we have a couple of retired greyhounds and a 36 year old palomino mare...yes, I do regret never training racehorses but other committments now prevent that.

I dont see why not! I have 2 horses - a full time job and I manage to fit it all in - ok so I dont have kids, but you work around these things.
Theres a way around everything hun - maybe you could introduce the kids into horseriding as well and share it as a family hobby. Horses are fantastic!!! xx

what are you really asking? You want to leave the children and just give up? No, that would just make you the worst parent ive ever heard of!! Why do you have 2 children at the age of 25 if you cant even care for them? What advantages in life would they have? Its ur duty to give them all the love that you can give them...

sometime what you love to do will be set aside especially if you are a family person now, well i think you can go for it as long as all is taken care in the family. but i hope not the budget for the electricity or the needs in your home not be payed for that horse thing you love :) i hope you get what i meant. go for it if you can! why not? as long as all is balance.
