It makes sense up to "impaired ventricular function" but not thereafter

Looks fine to me ; maybe there should be a comma after ventricular function.

"sequelae' is the plural of "sequela". You can have a sequela but you need at least two sequelae

You need a comma after the word "Initiallly," and after the word "function."
