To empty our lungs of amniotic fluid?
Plus, the first transition from warmth to cold is pretty extreme. Maybe nine months, you're all up and cozy in the uterus, and then all of a sudden, you're in a cold room. Change isn't always fun.
Besides, people can cry tears of joy. Crying is not always for a sad occassion.

Human nature.....God said that child birth would be painful after the first sin, I guess you didn't believe that. You don't have to teach a child how to lie, or cheat at board games, or throw a temper tantrum....that part is in us from birth.

Born crying?? Yes, this life apart from God is sad...but there is hope. I hope you realized that before there isn't any hope, dying, but better yet, realize it early in life so that you might teach your children the hope.

The only hope I know of is Jesus Christ. Ask a friend or a pastor about Him, please. This life is sad if we let the wrong things influence us, I agree, but there is hope.

One is the physical discomfort of birth. You're in a warm, wet and dark enviornment. Suddenly you're forced into the cold with blinding lights in your face. It's a shock. And crying is the only response an infant can give to show that it is scared and cold.

Babies cry at the time of birth due to the relatively cold outside compared to the warmth inside the womb.

Babies cry when they first come out of their mummies' tummies for physical reasons.. having the ability to cry has nothing to do with you being expected to lead a happy life.. by the way! there is something called "tears of joy".

I always cry when I am yanked out of my warm, cozy bed into a bright, cold room where someone slaps my behind. It was not just birth that did it to me.

the baby spends his time in his mother's womb in a warm liquid environment. when he gets out of there, it is cold and much drier than he's used to. crying is the only way he is able to communicate that.
