i tend to think they're well-read, depending on how they deliver it. if it's relevant to the topic at hand it can be quite insightful to quote the thoughts of others, but quoting others is no basis for intelligence. if they were just quoting frivolously then i'd think they were being pretentious twats.

the people i know who do that do it just to impress.no, actually to show off. esp because they use same ol' same ol' quotes. but it can also mean they are intelligent and like to read. so, i guess it really depends on the person you are talking about
