Well, as much as I love my Aussie captain Ricky Ponting, you cannot got past Mohammad Yousuf from Pakistan.
In 2006 he broke all sorts of records. His tally of 1788 runs was a record for the calendar year, as was his total of 9 centuries for the year. His average was 99.33.
