this is my reply to every1 who called me egotistical and up myself to the 'why is this guy so afraid of me', i didn't deserve the slating i got, possibly because i said i was popular and have a strong character. I'm crazy about this guy, and i've been crazy about him for years. Other people have told me he's really shy, and it's hard liking someone like that. I'm not egotistical, i am very popular at uni, but not because i'm cool, because i'm a nice person, and i try to be humble and i'll always listen to you if you've got something on your mind. I say i have a strong character because i've beaten my shyness which almost destroyed my life. I asked the question because i get mixed messages from him, that's all, and being shy before i know how painful it is to be misunderstood, or seen as conceited when sometimes your just too terified to talk. I just wanted to know if he's shy around me because....he might like me?

I really don't think he likes you. You have been hounding him for years from what you say and you're always in his face, even in the library. The one time he did talk to you, maybe to tell you to leave him alone, you ignored him.
Harsh life lessons, maybe, but you need to think about how you come across to other people.

Don't take what these guys say too seriously . . . some of them just like to put people down. Anyway . . . I used to be shy. Now I'm a love expert. And I can tell you right now you're approaching the situation all wrong.
You can't conclude anything about the guy liking you from the way he's shy around you. Maybe he's just really shy, or maybe he likes you. I think you should just go over to him and talk to him. You're in college, right? Go and ask him what he's majoring in, or whatever. If he's in your class, you can chat about the material, or whatever. Trade phone numbers. Then, one weekend, ask him out on a date. Don't listen to all that nonsense about writing letters so as to avoid intimidating him, or not approaching him because guys don't like that. If he likes you, it will be a BIG relief to him for you to show some interest! If he doesn't like you, then there isn't really anything you can do about it. But certainly you shouldn't be afraid to ask the dude out. Just don't go up to him all gung-ho. Let him warm up to you. If you come across as TOO sure of yourself, you might scare him. But you should definitely ask him out. Good luck!

Have you tried writing him a letter explaining how you feel? That way you may find out how he feels about you. Shy men are scared of confident women. Alternatively he may be just avoiding you because he isn't interested but if you write a letter than at least you will know either way and it will put you out of your misery!

You sound lovely sweet heart . You havent mentioned if you like him from afar or have you ever approached him and told him you like him . What about striking up a friend ship initially and let him relax around you . Then you can see where it goes from there . Good luck darling let me know how it goes on my 360 . C ya

Sorry, but that's how your question came over. If I'm wrong, sorry!
From the above try a more softly softly approach, don't go at him like??????????, as you yourself state you've overcome your shyness?
However I've very rarely found NICE, HUMBLE people shouting about being so................

Hi there, I think he IS shy because he likes you... you should approach him when there's no-one else there for him to be embarrased around and invite him out somewhere quiet so you can get to know each other properly... he'll come out of his shell once he gets to know you!!

he could well like you. guys can be shy and insecure too you know. I think you may need a dose of compassion. Why is it that we girls automatically think guys should be big rugby blokes with a sense for killin and huntin. We should treat them as we would like to be treat. dont you think?
id sooner date a guy that was open and showed his feelings...than one who pretended to be a man.
