There's caring, which is perfectly natural because it taps your paternal and fraternal instincts. You want to help, protect and care for your furry friend.
There's friendship, which is also perfectly natural, which just means you enjoy the company of your pet.
Then there's lust, which could be natural... I guess... but the law frowns on it. As do most religions. If you find yourself wondering if you need to wear a condom to avoid getting your dog pregnant, please see a professional.
Especially if your dog is male.
