Why do societies place so much value on vaginity?

Many questions and answers praise the value of vaginity as if the lack of any sexual experience made a woman a more valuable commodity. The same attitude is not displayed with regard to men. I don't believe that sex should be treated lightly but the concept of virgins having a greater worth seems to debase women as human beings.

I apologize for the spelling mistake. I mean virginity.

Most parents in this country would still wish that their daughters refrain from sex until marriage but I think they themselves would also admit that's a rather unrealistic and improbable expectation nowadays. As we're still sexist in some aspects, these parents would not have the same wish for their sons, not really.

The sexist concept came from the time when wives were considered properties of their husbands. No man wanted his property to have been "violated" by another person before him but he's completely free to "enjoy" other women.

Actually in context sex is meant for procreation.
God didn't send His son via an experienced woman.

Also, on a earthly level, a woman who lacks experience also lacks the ability of comparison, which might be better suited for some of the male species. :)
