The best alarm = you get what you pay for.

I would recommend getting the best alarm you can afford and better yet make sure you have full coverage. Throwing a bike in the back of a van does not take that long.

The basic $50 alarm is simple and is just motion alarm. It is triggered when the bike is moved but the ignition is off. Turning on the ignition turns off the alarm.

The more sophisticated alarms will call you when they go off, have a motion detection systems and you can even get them with satellite tracking to locate the stolen bike. The satellite thing might be overboard.
