Australia has eight or nine of the ten deadliest snakes in the world including the most venomous. The King Cobra doesn't make the top ten although one of the vipers appears in some lists. Australia also has the deadliest spider, the deadliest jellyfish, the deadliest octopus and the only venomous mammal in the world. None of them bother anyone very much so don't let them put you off visiting a great country.

There is argument whether the inland taipan or one of the sea snakes is the deadliest but the inland taipan, often called the fierce snake, heads most lists.

A king cobra has a lot more venom than any others, because it is a very large snake, but several snakes have venom that is stronger per the same volume.

Also different venoms work differently. Some attack the nerves (neurotoxic) and some attack the blood (hemotoxic) and some do both. Cobra venom is neurotoxic, most rattlesnake venom is hemotoxic though a few are both.

The strongest venom per volume however is the sea snake.

There is often a discussion about how many times enough to kill you, one snake has or another, but enough to kill you once is enough, after that they are just bragging.

Vipers venom is more deadly, BUT The AMOUNT of venom the King Cobra injects, is what makes it so deadly.

There are allot of different vipers out there.
A viper is just a species of snakes.

Read this article for the most venomous snake on land or at sea.

Do you mean out of the two choices, or THE most venomous snake??

King cobra is deadlier than a viper, however the deadliest snake in the world isn't either of those. I think it's the Taipan from Australia......
