Judging by Troy Smith and Brady Quinns's performance....I think Russell should have at least been a candidate.

Had Jamarcus Russel played at a higher profile, more glamorous college he'd have won hands down...Nobody would have ever mentioned Troy Smith in the same sentence with him.

I LOVE LSU but when it comes to glamor, they are no USC, Florida, Miami or Florida State.

Troy gets by because he plays for OSU who is in the the very weak Big Ten (They have 11 teams but apparently math isn't high on their academia requirements)...They were a very big fish in a very small football pond...He won a lot of games playing just a step above high school competition in the big ten (slow 11)!

The Big Ten (Big Tired) was the glamor football conference of the 60's and 70's...They survive on THAT reputation but not by what they put on the field in the 80's, 90's and 00's!...The covers come off and the truth is revealed when they have to play real football teams like Florida and USC!

If Troy had to face LSU and the rest of the SEC do you suppose they'd have even been playing after New Years Day?...OSU would be a bowl team in the SEC but they'd be 7-5 at best...Would what we saw Monday night beat Auburn or LSU?...We already know it can't stay with Florida.

If Troy had to PLAY Jamarcus, nobody would be thinking of him over Jamarcus.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I think they pick the Heisman too soon , why dont they wait
until after the Bowl games in Jan to pick them.
No way Matt Leinart would have won last year and Troy Smith
this year. Probably one of the reasons they get it so wrong
most of the time

He is a good QB but he didnt take over as many games as the others, funny these are the type of QB's that have long NFL careers unlike heisman winner
