This can happen occasionally, but as long as it is only a small amount and does not continue. Is she cramping at all? Your best bet is to go see the doctor soon and have it evaluated just to be sure. It will get you a definate answer and give you peace of mind. Good luck!

From what I've read, brown discharge can be normal. Either left over from a previous period, or the body having another period (which is possible even if the woman is pregnant). But you don't want to take chances. Safest route - go see a doctor. If your wife is pregnant you should already have one, and if you don't you should get one. Doctors can be very helpful to a woman during, and after, her pregnancy.

Hope you get everything sorted out, and congratulations.

Not necesarily, it is quite common to see this brown colour. If it hasn't been repeated it should be fine.
Even if she bleeds, it's not necessarily doom and gloom. My wife had a full bleed witth our first. And we thought that was it, over, but it turned out the blood was caused as a result of the egg trying to attach to the ovary wall, missing and trying again. This caused the bleed. So if in doubt see a GP, keep the evidence and show him/her. It is always better to be safe.

Did she have any other bleeding with it? Was it consistent? If just a spot or so she's probably fine... the body may be getting rid of anything in it's way of the uterus expanding. She should call her doctor anyway and they will let you know if she should be checked out or not. Better safe than sorry.

Congratulations and good luck!

Had she got hurt/jerk somehow? If yes, take her to the doctor immediately. There may be severe problem in case of sudden jerk or fall.
